Dishonoured 2 - OMG BUY IT NOW!!!
If the Bioshock series is my favourite game series EVER then the dishonoured series is a close number 2. The innovation behind these games is amazing. The graphics and art work are awesome. The gameplay can be varied and is a super smooth experience. The story is gripping and enhances the play rather than detracts from it.
Dishonoured 2 specifics
Will you play as Emily or Corvo?
From the beginning the tutorial is an optional feature. For someone that has played the first dishonoured a lot this is a nice choice. Being able to play as either Emily or Corvo is also exciting. As a female gamer its nice to have that choice. That said I'm interested in the different gameplay between the 2 characters so plan on playing again as Corvo when time allows.
The thing that sets Dishonoured apart from other games is just how many ways you can play it. You can rush in and kill anyone that comes in your way or you can sneak around and not be seen by anyone. I enjoy these different styles of play to a point where I went back and played the first section multiple times just to see how many routes I could take.
The gameplay is incredible! The combat is really smooth and feels natural. From dropping down on enemies and either knocking them unconscious or killing with no mercy, to sword to sword combat out in the open. Even the guards detection skills seem natural and unlike so many games where you can be standing in front of them waving your arms around and doing a little jig without them somehow noticing you.
The level of detail in creating these characters!
The animation style and artistry of dishonoured 2 is stunning. From the level of detail given to each or the rooms and the pictures on the walls. To the animations explaining story points and tutorials. The use of light and darkness to show warmth and despair, the team have put a lot of effort into making this game visually stunning.
