Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I enjoy writing about games, work, my tasty food and drink adventures with some random stuff thrown in whenever I can.

Testing the Squarespace blog iOS app

Testing the Squarespace blog iOS app

So I only just realised that Squarespace has an iOS app to make it easy to post blog articles on the go with an iPhone or iPad. WHO KNEW?!

So this is an awesome post to see what it is like. Is it easy to add images etc and move around and add blocks to a page.

Here is an amazing selfie taken with Bella who was ignoring me and trying to sleep.

Text is clearly easy enough to add now let's try an image.

Well that was super easy to add. And just as easy to move the image block to the side as it is on the desktop version. All it takes is a long press then dragging it to where on the page you want it to display. Easy!

Removing a block is also super simple. Just long hold the block as if you were wanting to move it and drag it down to the bin that is displayed at the bottom.

Have a handy screenshot to show what I mean.

Now what can I do to some text? Let's see.

Oooohhh bold text!

Oooohhh italic text!

Turns out I can do what I would usually be able to do with iOS text editing. So bolding, underlining and italics are easy.

What about linking I hear you say? Well let's give it a go! Here is a link to mightyape. Apparently this is where the Tt box comes in. Select some text then hit Tt. This give you the option to make text bullet points, numbered bullets, add links, make text bold and italicised. Handy!

Final thoughts on the Squarespace blog app for iOS. It's pretty good for an iPhone app and being able to add posts quickly and from wherever you have mobile reception. Will I still want to look at it on desktop and probably make changes? Most likely yes. Mainly because I'm a control freak when it comes to image size and placement on a page and if it looks off on the desktop version it will bug me. But for the purpose of this post I am going to let the images be wild and free and how I defined them on the phone app. (eye twitch)

Time to try posting to live!

Thanks for reading. 😀
